Apple crumble - Home economics

On Wednesday a little while ago for home economics we made apple crumble.

Ingredients:
  • Brown Sugar
  • White Sugar
  • Rolled oats
  • Cinnamon
  • Apples
  • Butter
  • Water
  • Flour
Method:
  1. Put flour, cinnamon and brown sugar into a bowl.
  2. Rub butter lightly into the mixture.
  3. Add rolled oats and mix with a fork.
  4. Dry the apples and peaches, cutting them into little pieces
  5. Divide evenly spooning the mixture into 4 little greased pie dishes.
  6. Sprinkle with white sugar and water
  7. Bake on fan bake for 10-15 min or until edge is going brown.
  8. Serve and enjoy

It tasted weird because their was to much oats and it wasn't cooked for long enough, so it was a bit gooey and raw. But it also took along time to make because of the apples.

Apple sauce muffins - Home economics

 Apple sauce muffins

Last Wednesday in home economics we made apple sauce muffins, we all got given a substitutions for our muffins apart from my group instead we got chocolate chips.

Original recipe no substitutions - It wasn't good but wasn't bad so it was okay, but I found it a bit raw and a bit much of some sort of liquid. But it was probably the best one out of all of them due to having the chocolate chips in them.

Canola and soy - I didn't like this one because it was to soggy and chewy so it may not of got cooked for long enough. Or it may be due to the substitutions that got added instead of the normal ones.

Butter and wholemeal flour - It was quite bad because they're was way to much oats because they're was whole meal flour and other oats added into the recipe.

Soy and wholemeal flour - It was quite bad because it was really chewy i'm guessing it was due to the whole meal flour and oats, but it was very bad I couldn't even eat it.

Canola and wholemeal flour - They put to much much baking soda in it was gross, and not enough of every other ingredient in the mixture so their was to much oats.

Butter and soy - It had a weird taste but it might've been because of the substitutions or they added to much baking powder. But this one was cooked well.

This is our recipe we had for the apple sauce muffins -

Mac and cheese - Home economics

A few weeks ago we made mac and cheese.

We gathered all the ingredients together such as pasta, cheese, cornflour, onions, ham, garlic, tomato and seasonings. We boiled the pasta and made a cheese sauce in the pan. We then combined the pasta and sauce together added onion and let it cook for at least 5 minutes. Put it in the oven to cook and then ate it with the tomatoes on top.

I thought it tasted a bit different from my mac and cheese at home, but it wasn't the worst thing I've tasted. The smell was alright and it looked not cooked enough.

7/10 some of my group didn't know what they were doing and started mucking around. But I fixed it and went with another group the week after making mac and cheese.

This is a photo like my mac and cheese.
