Drawing - Art

Drawing for tone, texture and proportion

These are my drawings -

What is tone ?

    -  Shading is a type of tone, because when you shade your work it gives you another tone towards your work so it adds a different texture to your work. Tone complements your work to then make it stand out more in your drawings.

How'd I use tone in my drawing ?

    - I used tone in my drawing when I tried shading parts of my drawing to give it a different look and texture to make it look 3 dimensional in a way.

What do I want to improve on in my drawing ?

    - I want to improve my shading and the way I use it and how I use it. But also the way I try make the drawing three dimensional by using shading and tone.

Slave trade triangle - Social studies

Here is my blog post about the slave trade triangle and my research I will be showing my work through a song that they used and my, my maps.

I chose the song - Wade in the water, Written by Harriet Tubman.

Meaning - Harriet Tubman wrote this song wade in the water to tell a story of how she helped the slaves escape from the southern states to the northern states. The lyric wade in the water is like the Africans/slaves when they went to the water to wash off the scent on themselves so the dogs couldn't smell them.

Who is Harriet Tubman - Harriet Tubman is the lady that helped at least 12 thousand Africans escape from the Southern slave states to the Northern free states. She used hidden underground rail roads to help them escape from the white men. Harriet Tubman was determined to do this after she found her way to escape and leave the slavery life she was living so she was determined to help others so she set herself a task and completed this task.

This is my  my maps with all my mapping and working I have done on this topic -

Model atom - Science

 Model Atom

Aim - To make a model atom.

Method -

1. Choose an atom to make (one between hydrogen and neon)

2. Work out how many protons, neutrons and electrons it has.

3. Assign protons and neutrons to a particular colour bead.

4. Get a ball of blue tac and stick the protons and neutrons to this to make your nucleus.

5.Cut out the appropriate electron shells and draw on the electrons with vivid.

6. Connect the nucleus and electron shells with a piece of string.

7. Create a label to go above the model so people know what you have created.

Results - Here is a picture of my model atom that I made.

Discussion -

An atomic and mass number is the numbers by the symbol. So the atomic number is the number that represents their place in the periodic table. Which is normally the number placed in the top left corner of the box . The mass number at the bottom of the box underneath the element which is made up by the protons, neutrons and electrons.

The element I chose was carbon it had 8 protons and 6 neutrons/electrons, and the mass number was 12.

Electron arrangement - On the first shell the maximum of electrons allowed are 2 electrons on the next shell the maximum is 8 shells and the third shell the maximum is 8 and so on. My element their was 2 on the first shell and 4 on the next shell because their were only 6 electrons.

2 interesting facts -  Carbon gets its name from the Latin word carbo, which means coal in Latin.

3 2 1 R I Q - English

3 Recalls - Lately in English we have been learning a new way to reflect our work, the reflection task is called 3 2 1 R I Q. I remember that 3 2 1 R I Q means 3 things we re call during the lesson thats what the 3 and R stand for. The two others are 2 insights and 1 question

2 Insights - We learn't how to use this in our blogs to reflect our work we have just learn't. But also helps us to give an easier way to reflect our work to our teacher. My question

1 Question - Why didn't we learn about this earlier ?

3 Recalls - Yesterday in English I remember getting these four words such as suspicion, fallacy, enigma and disappearance. We had to then search up the meanings to the ones we didn't know. Once we did that we then wrote a short story or paragraph with all four words in it.

2 insights - I learnt the definition of enigma and fallacy. We also learn't the different type of nouns like pro nouns, proper nouns, abstract nouns and so on.

1 Question - Why do we have different words for basically the same definition as another word?

Slinkachu - Art

In art this term we have been looking at a photographer by the name Slinkachu, we chose a photograph from one of his pieces that he photographed. We then took a photograph of our own set up action figures with the objects surrounding us. My artwork was based on trying new things, so I then went ahead and called it something new. This is my slide show with my work based around Slinkachu and my photograph.

Challenges chart Coraline - Film studies

In film studies were learning how to understand how characters are used in a film. I did mine by doing two google drawings on Caroline and the real mother also known as Mel Jones/Mrs Jones.

What am I learning ?

 - I am learning how to understand how characters are developed in a film.

How does this show my learning ?
 - This shows my learning because I made a google drawing of the characters.

What am I wondering as a result of my learning ?
 - I am wondering how long it takes to make up a character and the challenges in a movie.

The heart - science

In science we have been learning about the heart the parts of the heart and what they do.

Some parts of the heart

  - Pulmonary arteries and pulmonary veins.

  - There are two ventricle the right ventricle and the left ventricle . One of them is harder than the other and one is squishier and softer.

  - Valves

  - Aorta

  - A right atrium and a left atrium.

  - There are more parts that I forgot.

We learnt that the arteries move blood away from the heart and the veins move blood towards the heart.

We dissected the heart to explore more about it and see/feel what it physically looks like in real life not just on a screen.

I indeed did see and feel the parts of the heart like the two ventricles etc. We cunt the two ventricles in half to seen the veins inside of them. I really enjoyed the dissection because I thought I learned and understood the heart more by seeing it in front of me.
